Day 3. Photo A Day. "On Your Plate"

I definitely have my "plate full" with this month's move. I have accumulated more stuff in the 7 years I've lived in this apartment than I thought was possible. Even with semi-annual "toss everything" binges I still have a lot to sort through. I'm a huge fan of fresh starts so I'm trying to transfer as little as possible to my new apartment. I'll keep you posted!

Day 2. Photo Challenge. "Empty"

Day 2 of the June photo challenge is an empty Patron bottle and shot glass. If you'll notice the bills sitting behind it you may have an idea why I chose this as my pic of the day. Ha ha!

Hello June!

It's finally here! June 1st opens by giving us a sweet start with National Donut Day. I took the opportunity to celebrate at the place down the street and let me tell you, they backed up their name as "Best Do-nut". They were literally the best donuts I've ever had from anywhere. Light as air, they were amazing. If you are ever visiting Nashville and want to take a detour north to the small town of Gallatin, you wont regret it. They are that good.

June also brings the Summer Solstice a.k.a the longest day of the year and we can all use as much daylight as possible these days. Longer days means time to lounge by the pool even on work days, which makes for cheery dispositions. 

 

And while America's most famous blonde Marilyn Monroe gets to open the month with her birthday, I get to close it out at the end of the month (technically the 29th, but I can party for  two days)! Looking forward to all June has to offer: a new apartment and new jobs to name a couple. I'll keep you posted. Until then, enjoy the sun!

Day 16- What I am Reading

Usually I am reading a stack of magazines (Lucky & Food Network Magazine are two of my favorites) and then a stack of books. I picked Insurgent  by Veronica Roth on the Kindle even though I'm only reading the preview right now. This is on my "read really soon" list and I loved it's predecessor Divergent...

Also included in the stack of books I'm currently reading are Salem's Lot, Abandon, The Peach Keeper and more....

The more organized you can get on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd, the better! What does this mean for you? Yes, it's time for some serious spring cleaning! Get out those gloves and that scrub brush; take out those linens and air everything out; toss away all of those old papers and other detritus that's been clogging up your life so needlessly once and for all. Feels terrific, doesn't it? Sometimes, particularly for a neatness-inclined person like yourself, there is just nothing that tops a freshly scrubbed, well-ordered environment. (Except massive amounts of romance, of course.) Through the ever so-slightly-emotionally-up-and-down 6th and 7th, you'd do best to take a little time out when it looks like you might be getting too worked up about something. It's not as bad as it seems. You hit your intellectual sweet spot on the 12th and 13th. Sweet! By the 18th, you need to make a concerted effort to chill out. Go for a walk, admire flowers, breathe the sweet spring air. Network on the 19th. You're in a high-energy kind of place on the 24th and 25th. Don't be surprised if this leads to romance! Connect on the 30th and 31st.

Hello, February!

    

 Today continues the trend of our winter feeling much more like spring, what with the rainy days and clear sunshine and 60 degree weather. We have not had any snow that actually stuck this year and last year we had it by Thanksgiving. In fact, yesterday was Groundhog's Day and I'm figuring that Punxsutawney Phil was feeling like, "Are you serious? You brought me out here for this?! It's already spring." As it turns out, he did see his shadow, but I'm beginning to think that we are reading into that wrong. I am starting off the month with some planning. I finally finished assembling my desk and chair so that should make all the planning that much easier.

     I am planning a budget... Hopefully a trip to Paris (hey, it could happen!), my course work for the next 4 weeks, my meals, my blogs, my novel re-writes, my Valentine card list, something for Mardi Gras, a love song playlist, and my book, music, movie must experience lists.

     I wish I was going to Gigantour but the closest show is in Chicago and I didn't have anyone rallying me into making the road-trip. I wish they were playing a show closer. I feel like Nashville's getting skipped by everyone so far this year. I need to move.

     If I were to move right now it would be to Las Vegas. I'm thinking about it...I really am. I'm sick of the cold, I'm sick of tornadoes, I'm sick of living someplace where self-proclaimed rednecks rule the world...but most of all, I'm sick of living in a music market that artists skip whenever they play a limited tour. I can't keep flying all over the country just to see bands play, I need them to come to me...at least within a four hour drive...anyway, I'm ready to take on a grown-up town, not nested under the wing of The Church a.k.a. The Christian Right. So, I'm planning and plotting about how to make the rest of this year amazing. I will try to keep this updated. Thanks for reading.
